How do I use a custom domain name for my blog?

Blogger offers two free publishing options for your blog: hosting on Blogspot (example.blogspot.com) and hosting on your own custom domain (www.example.com or foo.example.com). You can change your publishing option at anytime, and your content will always remain unaltered regardless of which of these options you choose. Whether you want to purchase a new domain through Blogger or publish on a domain which you already own, we’ll walk you through the process of setting up your blog for a custom domain. What would you like to do? Buy a custom domain through Blogger. Host my blog on a URL that I already own.

In this case, Yahoo stored its Contributor Network usernames and passwords in plain text, which means the login credentials were immediately intelligible to anyone who broke in. Security experts say they can tell that the credentials were stored without encryption because many were too long to crack using brute-force techniques . "Yahoo failed fatally here," said Anders Nilsson , security expert and chief technology officer of Scandinavian security company Eurosecure . "It's not just one specific thing that Yahoo mishandled -- there are many different things that went wrong here. This never should have happened." Nilsson said Yahoo screwed up on three fronts: The site should have been built more robustly, so it wouldn't have been susceptible to something as simple as a SQL attack. It should have secured users' log-in information, and it should have put the equivalent of trip-wires in place to set off alarm bells when such an easily noticeable break-i...

What is the word verification option?

The "word verification" option can be found on the Settings | Comments section in your blog. If you choose "yes" for this setting, then people leaving comments on your blog will be required to complete a word verification step, similar to the one presented when you create a blog: What this does is to prevent automated systems from adding comments to your blog, since it takes a human being to read the word and pass this step. If you've ever received a comment that looked like an advertisement or a random link to an unrelated site, then you've encountered comment spam. A lot of this is done automatically by software which can't pass the word verification, so enabling this option is a good way to prevent many such unwanted comments.

Meoww..I've been settled for three days now. The first day was just arriving and eating lunch before crashing in bed. The next two days were planning to play Microsoft Games, working out some details for the XBox games and getting to know their team producer's a bit better. Today, we did a brief drop-by at Bungie to say hi (but not to Fisya!Meoww... Why not? I miss those guys), then went to the floor to help Katja, Lydia, Ver and a couple of volunteers to help finish up the last details. While doing so, we found a couple of bugs in the demo and I had to do some live bug fixing right there. Nik's starts tomorrow, and it’s going to be awesome. If you’re there, please come check out McDonald's, we’re very proud of it.
